Course Objective
Our A46 Piling Rig (Driven Above 15 Tonnes) Training is suitable for operators of all skillsets, experienced or not. The course is delivered in line with CPCS learning outcomes and is based on a mix of both theory and practical tuition to give delegates sound underpinning knowledge of best practice and safe operation.
Those that have experience and meet relevant profile criteria can undertake an EWT Experienced Worker Test in 1 day in order to obtain an industry recognised card.
CPCS Red to Blue?

Our A46 Piling Rig (Driven Above 15 Tonnes) Training Course covers the below content:
- Introduction to the item of plant, the relevant controls and required PPE, along with safe mounting/dismounting practices
- Pre-start and running checks and explaining the major components of the machine, their features, benefits and associated risks
- General responsibilities of the operator, referring to the manufactures handbook for the specific item of plant being used
- Operating procedures in line with industry best practice and NPORS guidelines
- Safe parking and shut down procedures

What cards are available on completion?
Successful candidates will obtain a CPCS card on completion, there are different options available dependent on prior experience/qualifications of those attending;
- CPCS Red Trained Operator card (2 years) - this card is issued on completion of training and/or the NPORS test, and is available for anyone who has a valid HS&E Health Safety & Environment test.
- CPCS Blue Competent Operator card (5 years) - this card can be issued to any operator that has undertaken NPORS training/testing and also holds a relevant NVQ.
Pre-Course Information:
Any candidates should have a good understanding of English, the NPORS scheme does permit the use of interpreters however and Safeteam can always organise for an independent interpreter to be made available if needed.
Can I claim CITB grant on CPCS ?
In short yes. CITB levy registered businesses can claim CITB grant for CPCS courses as long as the durations hit certain parameters for CPCS experienced worker or CPCS novice training. The CITB grant amount is subject to the duration of training and will consist of 1 grant payment which encompasses both training and the CPCS technical test.
Course Delivery
CPCS Piling Rig training will consist of a large element of practical tuition. Any delegates undertaking a novice or experienced worker CPCS Piling Rig course will also undertake theory training to prepare them for the CPCS theory test. Delegates may be provided with and are encouraged to read Safeteam's CPCS study notes prior to attendance.
