CPCS PLANT
TRAINING

CPCS stands for ‘Construction Plant Competence Scheme’ – the scheme was developed to prove the skills of those that either operate or work around plant machinery. Formally run by the CITB ‘Construction Industry Training Board’, the scheme is now owned and managed by NOCN.
The CPCS scheme has historically been recognised by Build UK Contractors (formally UKCG) among many other as the preferred carding scheme to comply with codes of practice for competence and certification.

The scheme provides a registration card scheme acknowledged by industry for those involved in plant operations by recognising skills, knowledge and understanding, competence and qualifications.  It is based on a mix of occupational competence, experience on site and health and safety awareness – three essential qualities for operating plant machinery safely and effectively.
